Spelling to Communicate certified Practitioner

Offering S2C lessons to all those who are non speaking, minimally speaking and unreliably speaking in the Nelson, Tasman area of New Zealand. This includes those with other complex diagnosis such as Down Syndrome, Autism and many others. I accept people of all ages from "littles" (age 5-9) upwards. I currently offer my services free of charge as this is my community service work. My full time employment is home based and therefore allows flexibility.

About Me

I am a Mom to 2 boys aged 10 and 12. My 12 year old Owen, has ASD and dyspraxia (motor planning disorder) and he is completely non speaking. In 2022, when he was 9, we got started on S2C using the 3 letterboard stencils with a lovely practitioner in Auckland. By the end of January 2024, my son become "open" on the 26 letterboard and I was finally able to ask him what his favourite colour was and what music he liked. His birthday that year he was able to design, in great detail, what he wanted his birthday cake to look and taste like as well as what kind of party he wanted. This was the beginning of an amazing chapter not only for our son, but for our family. Through my sons insistence, I decided to become a practitioner myself. I recently became certified as of December 2025.
